Mr. Larry Roberts' Obituary
Larry Roberts was born May 2, 1957, in Meridian, MS to the union of the late Melvin and Lucille Roberts. He was one of nine children two of which, Melvin Roberts Jr. and Lorie Ann Roberts Jackson, preceded him in death. At an early age, Larry dedicated his life to the body of Christ and attended Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church as a youth. A veteran of the United States Navy, Larry retired from Peavey Electronic Corporation after 20 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fixing on lawn mowers, a talent he picked up from his late father, until his health started to decline. Larry also had a love for music, with an extensive music collection to prove it. He has left us with many fond memories of him blasting his music loudly in what we called "the back room" as he would imitate playing the instruments as if he was a member of the band himself! An avid lover of sports and a great storyteller, Larry had a great sense of humor with a caring, gentle spirit and was a devoted son, brother, and "unk''. Everyone Larry knew will greatly cherish his impact on their lives, either through love, friendship, or mentorship. Left to cherish his memories are three brothers: Herbert, Albert, Kenneth (Robin) Roberts; three sisters: Jackie Antley, Erma Roberts, Cathy Bryant; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
