Ms. LaShata Michelle Cole's Obituary
Today we are celebrating the Home Going of Ms. LaShata Michelle Cole, born on January 22, 1980 in Meridian, MS. She is the daughter of Janice Cole and Larry Rogers. LaShata accepted Christ at an early age at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member where she served as a youth in the Sunbeam, Red Circle, and Youth Choir. As an adult, she served as a Sunday School Teacher and VBS Coordinator. She was educated in the Meridian Public School District where she graduated from Meridian High School in 1998. She continued her education at Alcorn State University where she received her Bachelor Degree. On Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 7:00 a.m., the Lord dispatched a band of angels to escort LaShata to her heavenly home, where her maternal grandparents, Ervin and Ola Mae Cole, fraternal grandparents, William H. Anthony and Ora Lee Rogers, an aunt, an uncle and Big Daddy welcomed her home. Surviving her departure with cherished memories are her two loving sons, Christian Jamal Stringfellow and LanSus Jamel Cole of Meridian, MS; her loving mother, Janice Cole of Meridian, MS; her father Larry (Deborah) Rogers of North Fort, VA; sister, Ciera L. Rogers; brothers Kevin D. Rogers of North Fort, VA and Quincy A.M. Rogers of Atlanta, GA; two great-aunts, Legertha Hall and Ola Mae Henderson of Meridian, MS; five aunts, Elaine Cole, Rachel Martin, Emma Naylor, Gloria Rogers all of Meridian, MS and Ethel (Eddie) Smith of Cincinnati, OH; two uncles, Eddie (Lear) Cole of Atlus, OK and Leo (Flora) Rogers of Meridian, MS. A special friend, Benjamin Graham. A host of cousins, other relatives and friends whom will miss her dearly.
