Lasonya Monique Gordon, 49, beloved daughter, sister, and friend. Born on December 16th, 1971 to Margaret Ann Gordon and Allan Sims, passed away on July 17th 2021. Sonya graduated from Meridian High School in 1991 and continued her education at Meridian Community College to obtain a certification as a nurse assistant. Without a shadow of a doubt, Sonya pursued her passion for people. Sonya was a compassionate person who enjoyed being silly with her family and friends. She had the most beautiful smile that could light up your soul. If you ever had the pleasure of being with Sonya, you know she loved playing spades, watching the Golden State Warriors, sitting outside, and telling you how your life should be! Sonya could spend hours talking if you'd let her. The relationship she had with her brother, Anthony Gordon, was like no other. Sonya was the big sister that taught him all about life and she had his back in every situation, Most of all, she loved and adored the patients she had the opportunity to care for. If you were lucky enough to witness her live out her passion through her amazing care for them, the pure joy radiating through her was blinding. She is preceded in death by her stepfather Clarence Giles and her grandparents Madison and Celeste Gordon. Sonya is survived by her mother, Margaret Ann Giles; father, Allan (Judy Lynn) Sims; brothers, Anthony Gordon, Allen Brandon Sims; sister, LaSayra Sims; numerous aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and loved her,
