Ms. Latassia J. McClelland's Obituary
LaTassia J. McClelland, the daughter of Eva McClelland and George Gale and a loving stepfather, James Maye, was born November 9, 1980. LaTassia was granted her angel wings on November 9, 2019 in Meridian, Mississippi. Her final day were spent surrounded by family and friends. LaTassia’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that her purple passion mentality far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
LaTassia graduated from Meridian High School in 1999 and later attended college at Meridian Community College and East Central Decatur College. She accepted Christ as her savior; joined and attended the New Freedom Tabernacle of Praise Church of Meridian, Mississippi. LaTassia was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stars of Virtue chapter #1069, MF&AM Inc. of Columbus, MS.
LaTssia was preceded in death by: her grandparents: Eva’s Parents: Jimmy and Mattie McClelland; George’s parents: E. And Lue Gale; her uncle, Jimmy “Cadillac” McClelland.
LaTassia leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Eva McClelland (James); her father, George Gald; her daughter, Shykenya McClelland; her son, Jahkarta McClelland, all of Meridian, MS; seven sisters: ShyAnna Maye; Felicia Miller (Bishop Elect Pastor Timmie Miller); Erica Morton (Robert); Roysheda Davis (Lovell); Bernice Collins; Beunkia Collins; and LaKia Collins; two brothers: George L. Gale; Fredrick Reese; five aunts: Dorothy Stewart (George); Annie McClelland; Mattie McClelland; Ruby Moore; and Betty Martin; seven uncles: Michael McClelland, Thomas J. McClelland, Jessie Gale, Jim Gale (Jewel), John Gale, Frankie Gale, Sr. (Glenda), Arthur L. Hampton (Evelyn); a God brother, Curterrious Antonio Tingle, Jr.; four God kids: Robert Sims Jr, Sha’Myria Sims, Amari Mercer, Ahmad Mercer; two special uncles: Frederick “Ricky” Newell and Clyde coleman; and a host of relatives and friends.
