Mrs. Latoya Shana Gordon Thigpen's Obituary
Latoya was born November 4, 1979, to proud parents; Mr. Curtis Gordon of Chicago, IL and Mrs. Noma Gordon of Meridian, MS. Latoya was the second of five children. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, grandfather, and uncle. Latoya accepted Christ at an early age. She attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. Latoya fell in love with Jerry Jerome Polk Thigpen on February 26, 2003 while working at Cook Food, Inc. They were later united in holy matrimony on December 30, 2004. This marriage was sustained until her death. This union was blessed with two daughters, Zaacharia Shanae Gordon and Zamiya Monae Thigpen; and one son, Zikevion Zaquan Thigpen. Family was everything to Latoya. She was loved by many. Her heart was one of a kind like no other. On Saturday, September 3rd, Latoya went from earth to glory at Regency Hospital of Meridian, MS. Latoya leaves to cherish her memory a faithful and devoted husband, Jerry Jerome Polk Thigpen; two daughters, Zaacharia Shanae Gordon and Zamiyah Monae Thigpen; one son, Zikevion Zaquan Thigpen; one grandchild, Jayden Zumeir Gordon; mother, Norma Gordon Rue, all of Meridian, MS; father, Curtis Gordon of Chicago, IL; one sister, Kimberly Gordon of Jackson, MS; three brothers, Michael Rue, Derrick Gordon, Sr. (Jamie Colton), and Craig (Lasharri) Gordon, all of Meridian, MS; God-mother, Beverly Hill, of Meridian, MS; mother-in-law, Ethel Lee McDonald, of Morton, MS; three sisters-in-law, Shay Polk, of Philadelphia, MS, Carlion Polk, of Morton MS, and Cheryl Thigpen of Mark, MS; two brothers-in-law, Terry Thigpen, of Batesville, MS, and Johnathan (Kadejah) Thigpen, of Morton, MS; special friend, Sandra Avery; and a host of uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
