Mr. Lavell Powe, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Lavelle Powe, Sr. was born one April 18, 1931 in Kemper County to the late Eva Rush and Roger,Powe. He moved to Meridian, MS in 1954 were he quickly became known for his hardworking ethics and landscaping skills and established a name for himself as "Treeman".
While in Meridian, he married Annie Mae Greer at the Old Nazarene church located on 30th Avenue and was a devoted husband for 63 years. Mr. Powe loved life and everything that came with it. At 54 years of age, Mr. Powe confessed to Christ and became a faithful member of Fitkins Church of the Nazarene until his illness, under the guidance of Dr. Charles Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Annie Mae Powe; one son, Lavell Powe, Jr.; two daughters, Brenda Henderson (Terry), and Theresa Walker (Eddie) of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Arther James Powe; three sisters, Elvador McCoy, Margie Powe and Emma Lee Newell; seven grandchildren, Nick (Erica), Theron "Tuffy", a devoted granddaughter, Danielle, Marcus (Deborah), LaToya & Carlos of Pensacola, FL, Jayee (Angela) of Cincinnati, OH; a devoted great grandchild, JaBrandon Lewis Cole; twelve great grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mr. Powe was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Rush and Roger Powe; two sisters, Vera Brown and Alice Evans; six brothers, Calvin McCalebb, Collin Powe, Roger Lee, William Powe, Ezell Gordon and Roy Powe.
