Mr. Lawrence Charles Brown's Obituary
Lawrence Charles Brown was born July 25, 1944 to Ollie and Zella Brown in Shubuta, MS. At an early age Lawrence C. attended Shirley Owens School where he met and married the love of his life, Katie Mae Strickland, on October 5, 1964, and to this union six children were born.
Lawrence C. affectionately known to all as "Gobbler" was a "Man of Love" and a perfect piece to our family's puzzle.
Lawrence C. worked for the City of Quitman, and as a logger for several logging companies. The love for working on cars was his true passion. Lawrence C was the original "Shade Tree Mechanic", and Roosevelt, Ollie G and Lawrence C was the original "Dukes of Hazard." Lawrence C. was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Jennifer; a grandson; Jerry Jr.; six sisters: Argie, Fronie, Christine, Canella, Marie, and Bertha; four brothers: Ollie G., Roosevelt, Preston, and Bobby.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving wife of sixty years Katie M Brown; two daughters;
Melinda Carter and Wanda Brown; three sons: Lawrence C. Brown Jr., Stevie (Shree) Brown, and Jammie (Shonda) Brown, fifteen grandchildren: April (Eric) as a daughter, Derrick (Alexis) , Kerry (Jaylan), Kendrick, Jameshia, Zeleshia, Kendrella, Carderrion, Zakerion, Serenity, Jammie Jr, Jame-ria, Tazarius, Meosha, Jakerius; eighteen great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Malik, Elijah, Katie, Kaden, Dream, Jennarrious, J'untay, London, Naomi, Princeton, Brielle, Braylen, Brayden, Khyia, Jamiee, Eris and Harmony, two brothers-in-law: John Pickens and Charlie Scott; two sisters-in-law: Mary Cobb and Lucille Sanders, nine special nephews: Odell Brown, Charles McCarty, Ray C. Brown, Jimmie Gamblin, Roy, Ollie Ray, Jimmie, Carl, and Terry Brown. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
