Mr. Lawrence Rush, Sr.'s Obituary
Lawrence Rush, Sr. was born July 10, 1939 to the union of Jessie Lee and Gertruline Rush in Miller’s Ferry (Wilcox County) Alabama. Lawrence accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church. He later joined New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. He served on the deacon board, the usher board, and was a faithful member of the male choir for many years. He was a dedicated and active member of New Prospect until his health begin to decline. He departed this life on November 16, 2016 at Merit Health Rankin in Brandon MS. He was proceeded in death by his wife Berda, his father Jessie, his son, Rodney, his brother Grady, and his sister Irene. Lawrence was a hardworking, dedicated and loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his sons Lawrence (Vikki) Rush of Nashville, Tenn, His son Fredrick (Jackie) Rush, of Meridian, Ms. His memories will be cherished by his mother Gertruline Rush, two brothers O.C. Rush and Ricky Rush, four sisters Mary Jones, Patricia Brown, Alinda Rush-Brown, and Gloria McDonald, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. ; He will truly be missed by three adopted daughters Shelia Jackson, Lisa Dickey, and Latonya Drinker.
