Mr. Lester Ray Reed's Obituary
Lester Ray Reed was born February 22, 1967 in Meridian, Mississippi to Nettie Pearl Barnett and Clyde Jenkins.
At an early age, he joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. In his later years, Lester became a member of Tamola Church of God in Lauderdale, Mississippi.
Lester was educated in the Meridian Public School District. For over 20 years, he was a valued employee of Meridian Order Buyers. Later, he became employed with East Mississippi State Hospital where he worked until his health began to decline.
In May 1986, Lester met the love of his life, Jo Ann Chandler. They shared many wonderful memories. On July 30, 1993, they united in holy matrimony. To their union, JosLyn, his forever love, was born.
During Lester's recent illness, Jo Ann remained a supportive friend and caregiver.
Lester was known for his great sense of humor, which brought joy to those around him. He cherished the bond he shared with his family and friends, always offering support and being there for them. His love and passion were evident in everything he did, leaving a lasting impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Lester's departure leaves a void in the lives of those who loved him.
However, his memory will be cherished and his spirit will live on through the cherished moments and the love he shared with others.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Reed, father, Clyde Jen-kins, stepfather, James Barnett, Sr., maternal grandmother, Ella Pearl Walker and his brother, Robert Reed.
He leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by his daughter, JosLyn Reed; his mother, Nettie Pearl Barnett; two brothers, James Barnett, Jr., and Michael Barnett (Mahogany), one sister Debbie Barnes; and a special friend, Mary Ezell. He also leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
