Mrs. Lillie Mae Alford's Obituary
Lillie Mae Clark Alford, known as "Sister" was born March 7, 1944. She was the oldest child of the late Willie Harden and Bertha Mae Clark. She departed this life on earth on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her home. Preceded her in death was a brother: Grover Clark, brother-in-law: Thomas Connor and a grandson: Gregory Swinson. Lillie was educated in Greene County Training Schools, Snow Hill, North Carolina. She attended Savannah FWB Church and later attended Little Hope Baptist Church, Toomsuba, MS. Lillie lived in Greene County the early part of her life and worked at Kinston Shirt Factory for years. She relocated to Toomsuba, Mississippi in 1973. She was employed at Meridian Convalescent Home for thirteen years and a faithful employee at Saint Patrick School, where she retired. Lillie was an avid lover of plants, gardening, yard sales, thrift shopping. and collecting antiques. She had a knack for preserving history. She enjoyed music, riding, shopping and playing games. Lillie married William Alford in 2012. There she resided until death. She had four daughters: Wilma (Calvin) Harris of Meridian, MS; Jacqueline Swinson, Hookerton, NC; Cheryl (Gary) Grady, Mebane, NC and Sheri Swinson, Covington, GA; six sisters: Melbatine (William), Hookerton, NC; Joyce Connor, Hookerton, NC; Connie Barfield (Norman) Jason, NC; Jackie Clark, Pink Hill, NC; Hazel Christine Phillips and Launie Bannerman, Kinston, NC; three brothers William Clark, Hookerton, NC, Willie Clark, Grifton, NC, Amos Clark, Louisville, KY; ten sister-in-laws Bertha Clark, Hookerton, NC; Sylvia, Linda, Brenda, Ethel Jean. Frances Pearl, Nellie Ruth, Aileen, Lorene and Evalena ofEnterpise, Ms; three brother-in laws Ben, Alfonzo, Ezkiel and Clyde of Enterprise, MS: five granddaughters Tyreeka Randolph, Laquanda Swinson, Meridian, MS; Fredericka Williams, Hookerton, NC; Chantea' Swinson-Rhoe and G'Nia Grady, Mebane, NC; a grandson Domeka Swinson, Mebane, NC. Three great grandsons: Shundaarius, Joshua Randolph and Rome Bentley of Meridian, MS, three great grandaughters: JaKayla Swinson, Ashy la Mosely of Meridian, MS, Myreeka Swinson. Hookerton, NC; great great grandchild Masih; devoted friends Robert and Linda Dean, Myrtle, Ethel Lee and Shawn Randolph of Meridian.MS a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
