Ms. Linda Marie Fisher Shadwick's Obituary
Linda Marie Fisher Shadwick was born on October 19, 1953 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi to the late Ernest Johnson Fisher and Josephine Gathright Fisher. Linda was the eleventh child of twelve children born to this union. Linda departed this life on July 5, 2016 in Downey, California. At an early age, Linda accepted Jesus Christ and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend TimothY Graham. Linda was active in the church in which she served as Church Secretary and also sang in the choir. She remained a faithful member until she relocated to California in 1988. After relocating to California, Linda became a member of Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos, CA where she remained a member until her passing. Linda attended Middleton Attendance Center, but later transferred to Southeast Lauderdale High School where she obtained her high school diploma in 1971. After graduating high school, Linda continued her education at Meridian Community College studying Business Education. She later attended Fullerton Community College and Southern California Institute of Technology where she received a certification in accounting. For more than 20 years, Linda worked in various industries as a Senior Accounting Specialist until her health declined. Linda was married to Leonard Shadwick of Meridian, MS, but later divorced. From this union, two children were born, La Tanya Shadwick and Leneatra Shadwick. Linda shared a special bond with her two daughters whom she adored. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Johnson Fisher and Josephine Gathright Fisher and four siblings, Charlie Fisher, James Franklin Fisher, Pamela Darlene Fisher Bankhead, and Joann Fisher Jennings. Linda will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. For those who knew her well, she will also be remembered for her kind and humble spirit, her love of cooking, her quick wit, and her willingness to help others. Linda leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, La Tanya and Leneatra Shadwick, Houston, TX; four brothers: Billy Fisher (Henryette), Peekskill NY; Raythel Fisher, Anaheim, CA; Ernest Fisher, Garden Grove, CA; Raymond Fisher (Margaret), Corona, CA; three sisters: Mary Fisher Hughes, Inglewood, CA; Eva Fisher Freeman (James), Los Angeles, CA; Diane Fisher, Long Beach, CA; three aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
