Ms. Linda D. Horne's Obituary
Linda Denise Horne was born in Meridian, MS on December 11, 1956 to Reverend Robert Lee Horne and Lular Mae Horne.
Linda united with the Fifth Street Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. I.C. Day where she was a member of the choir and later joined the usher board.
Linda was educated in the Meridian Public School system where she was a graduate with the Class of 1974 of Meridian High School. She also attended Meridian Junior College.
Linda was employed with Shoney’s Restaurant for 18 years as a kitchen manager. After the closing of the restaurant, she later became a CNA where she worked at several nursing homes in Meridian.
Ms. Horne was preceded in death by: her parents; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Pearl Hall Bryant; and one brother, Reverend Sylvester E. Horne.
Linda departed this life on August 31, 2020 at Anderson Regional Medical Center.
She leaves to cherish her memories: four sisters: Gloria Cole, Mary (Donald) Naylor of Meridian, MS; Brenda (John) Avery of Birmingham, AL; and Barbara Benjamin of San Diego, CA; three brothers: Robert (Essie) Horne of Denver, CO; James Horne of Omaha, NE; and Caster Horne of Meridian, MS; one sister-in-law, Sandra Horne of Tuscaloosa, AL. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and the Fifth Street Baptist Church Family.
