Mrs. Lindy Lou Goodwin's Obituary
Lindy Lue Dumas Goodwin gracefully blessed this world with her presence on July 27, 1941 to the late Mr. Samuel and Mrs. Luella Dumas in Stonewall, MS.
Lindy was educated in the Stonewall School. She began her working career for several companies including, but not limited to Burlington Industries and Enterprise School District. She was an employee for the Enterprise School District as a cafeteria worker. She was a faithful employee until she retired.
Lindy was a woman of many talents. Among the many talents she obtained, she was one who loved her family, friends and her community. Anyway she could lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, one to give knowledge of wisdom and advice or even to babysit, she didn't mind stepping in to help. She was a homemaker who loved cooking, building and gardening. Her homemade biscuits was one of her famous dishes that was loved by everyone, along with her awesome cooking that would draw a crowd within the community. She didn't mind feeding others who wanted a home cooked meal. Her most prized possessions besides her children were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also would babysit not only her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but other children within her community.
Lindy met and married Robert C. Goodwin and to this union, 3 children were born and raised with all the tender, love and care they could ever give.
Lindy had come to the end of her journey and answered God's call to come to her Heavenly home on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents; one (1) brother, Joe Dumas and one (1) sister, Faye Dumas.
Lindy leaves to cherish her memory and honor her legacy her three (3) children: Vickie Moore and Steve Goodwin both of Stonewall, MS, and Lynn (Winston) Gray of Enterprise, MS; six (6) grandchildren: Savannah, Taboris, Shaterria, Shawanda, Derryon and Kyle; four (4) great-grandchildren; one (1) brother: William A. Dumas of Vernon Hills, Illinois; three (3) sisters: Billie S. Goff of Stonewall, MS, Kaye Dumas of Pasadena, CA, Edwina Dumas and Frances Dumas both of Evanston, IL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. Her smile, laughter, love and her presence will truly be missed.
