Ms. Lisa Goodwin's Obituary
The Obituary of Lisa Meria Goodwin
Lisa Meria Goodwin was born February 21, 1968, in Brookhaven, MS
to the late Robert Boston Goodwin and Bertha Goodwin. Lisa united
with Kynett United Methodist Church (Brookhaven, MS), at an early
age. She is a 1986 graduate of Brookhaven High School.
After graduating high school, Lisa attended the University of Southern
MS where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in
May 1990. While attending college, Lisa became a member of the Iota
Kappa Charter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. during the fall of
1987.
Lisa was a dedicated, hard-working, and compassionate Registered
Nurse who provided professional care and service to all she served.
Lisa continued to serve her community and patients until her health
began to fail. She transitioned from this life peacefully on September
29, 2021, surrounded by her beloved friend John Davidson, at Rush
Hospital in Meridian, MS.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Boston Goodwin. She
leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Mrs. Bertha Goodwin of
Porterville, MS, her brother, Mr. Tony Gonzales Goodwin of
Glendale, CA; two nieces: Miya and Emory Goodwin of Los Angeles,
CA; two godchildren: Lena Mathis of Irving, TX and Joshua Mathis of
Cordova, TN; a very special friend of twenty years, John Davidson of
WestPoint, MS, a close girlfriend, Soror Rhonda Mathis of Cordova,
TN. In addition to a host of cousins, friends and Sorors.

THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE BEING PRACTICED FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILIES BEING SERVED AND OUR STAFF:
Viewings:
- All viewings are limited to one hour and no more than 10 people are allowed in the chapel at one time where social distancing is not possible.
- Temperatures must be taken upon entering the lobby. Temperatures 100 degrees or more will not be allowed to enter.
- All visitors must wear a mask and are not allowed to touch, hug or kiss the body.
Graveside Services:
- All services are Graveside. Those in attendance are asked to practice social distancing where possible and wear a mask.
