Ms. Lizzie Lucille Benoman's Obituary
Lucille Benoman was born December 27, 1930, to Robert and Jessie Rush Bennerman in DeKalb, Mississippi.
She received her education from Whisenton High School in DeKalb, MS. She also attended Jackson State University.
At an early age, she became a member of Center Ridge Baptist church in DeKalb, MS. after relocating to Meridian, she united with East Mt. Moriah Baptist Church were she served in many capacities. She served as Sunday School Superintendent, on the Usher Board, in the Choir, Trustee and Finance Secretary. She was an honorary member of the Heroines of Jericho #374 and Eastern Star. Lucille served on the County Wide Usher Board for twenty seven years and Secretary of First New Hope District Congress of Christian Eduction for over thirty years. She was employed as. Nurses’ Aide in many nursing facilities, East Mississippi State Hospital and PDN.
Lucille departed this life on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Queen City Nursing Center in Meridian. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents, Robert and Jessie Rush Bennerman and a brother, Roy Bennoman. She leaves to cherish her memory: one son: DeLars Benoman Sr; one sister: Pearlie Benoman; one grandson: DeLars (Cassandra) Benoman Jr., all of Meridian, MS; granddaughter: Rachel Benoman; great-grandson: Jose Benoman; loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
