Mr. Lloyd Smith Sr.'s Obituary
Lloyd Smith, Sr., the oldest son of the late Queen Esther Tart and Edward G. Smith, was born December 17, 1943 in Birmingham AL. Lloyd attended the Birmingham Public Schools and later received a Bachelor of Science and Social Studies degree from Rust College. During this time he met and married the love of his life Remona Hurst. Lloyd started his teaching career in 1965 in Meridian MS. His career spanned 34 years and three generations. Upon his retirement he devoted his time to mentoring, guiding and educating disadvantaged young African-American males. Many of whom continue to .value his lessons to this day and claimed that he was the greatest teacher of them all. Lloyd Smith, Sr., leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife Remona Smith, children: Katrina Smith, Doris Eloise Smith, Delores Eunice (Donald) Griggs, Dana Lorraine Smith, Lloyd (Bridget) Smith, Jr. and Tammy Smith. Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
