Mr. Lonnie Nicholson, Jr.'s Obituary
Lonnie Nicholson, Jr., was born on July 3, 1964 to Lonnie Nicholson, Sr., and Doris Little Nicholson.
At an early age, Lonnie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Blues Chapel Church in Scooba, MS.
Lonnie was educated in the Meridian Public School District and was a 1983 graduate of Meridian High School. "Slim", or "Po Slim", as he was known by many, was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed spending time with family, always being the life of the party. He loved landscaping and always felt very proud of his work.
As the evening hours commenced on March 18, 2024, the Angel of Obedience entered the room of Lonnie Nicholson, Jr. He slipped an invitation under his pillow; the golden inscription immediately illuminated in holiness revealing it's contents:
"Lonnie Nicholson, Jr., the Magistrate of Grace and Mercy has requested your presence in the New Jerusalem. You will enter into the realm of unimaginable joy and perpetual care."
Lonnie leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by his parents, Lonnie and Doris Nicholson; his children, Reginald Davis (Shell), Latoyia Davis-Scott (Brandon), Deion Butchee (Kelitah, and Chasmine Nicholson; grandchildren; Ja'Vius Davis, Ja'Kayla Scott and Journee Butchee; sisters, Priscilla Parker (James) and Laquesha Richardson; brothers, Eric Nicholson (Angee) and Alex Nicholson (Kera); a special friend, Dalphine Gaines; and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, and other relatives who loved him dearly and will truly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Nicholson and one son, Daniel Davis.
