Ms. Lorene Nealy's Obituary
Mrs. Lorene Nealy of Kemper County, MS was born May 30, 1943 to the late Earlie and Annie Esther Anderson. Mom accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was baptized at First Union Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. She was converted and experienced the spiritual transformation on September 3, 1972, Western Gardens, Apartment 118-Building 121. She then became a born again Christian and dedicated her entire life to God. Mom became very active in her childhood church at First Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Roy L. Brown. She was the president of the Red Circle and a member of the Southern Baptist Convention. Mom graduated from Harris High School and College of the Baptist Seminary. Working as the lead waitress was where she met and united in holy matrimony with the late Mr. Eddie Earl Nealy. She also worked at Imperial Perfection Cleaners doing the late 70's. She worked at Anderson Hospital on 5-East for over 10 years. She worked at East Mississippi State Hospital as a ward clerk on the alcohol and drugs unit (ADS) for over 25 years until her retirement. She departed her life on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by love ones. Mrs. Nealy leaves to cherish her loving memories to her only surviving sister, Mrs. Elouise Pringle Anders; a nephew, Dr. Timothy Longmire Anderson; seven dedicated and devoted children, Leon Nealy of Meridian, MS, Maria Louise Nealy of DeKalb, MS, Veronica Regina (Greg) Nealy of Meridian, MS, Eddie Lanice (Steve) Fielder of Meridian, MS, Dr. Lisa Niko! Nealy of Alamosa Colorado, MS, Angel Nealy of Meridian, MS, Tammie (Van) Chestang of Ridgeland, MS; two special cousins, Barney Leroy Houston and James Junior Naylor; special family friends, Barbara Crawford, Bertha Prater, Linda Stribling, the ADS staff at East Mississippi State Hospital, Kindered Spirit Home Care Nursing Facility, UBS-Universe Business Service Home Care Staff, Oxford Health Care Facility, and Bula Anne Cole; twenty five grandchildren, twenty eight great-grand children and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends that loved her dearly. Mom loved the Lord and became deeply involved in church. She was a leader and was elected president of the usher board at First Union Missionary Baptist Church, president of the Angelic choir at First Union, Baptist Training Union (BTU) at First Union lead soloist-1st soprano, and organized a host of pastor anniversaries throughout her time as a member of this church. Mom also was a very active member at Mt. Sinai where she served on the usher board. Additionally mom inspired many with her biblical knowledge by teaching others the word and accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior. She was a prayer warrior and a biblical scholar. She loved the Lord and was very passionate about telling the world who God is and how he changed her life. She was a member of "The Voices of Joy", a member of the Lydia Chapter Eastern Star, and traveled throughout the state and nationary singing and teaching the gospel and starred in a play entitled "Hello Dollie" where she was the lead soloist. Moreover, mom had a prosperous career. She worked at Weidman's restaurant.
