Mrs. Louise Collins McMillan's Obituary
Dorothy Louise Collins McMillan was born November 29, 1937 in Clarke County, Mississippi to Leonard and Gladys Lucille Collins. She was the third child. On Wednesday, July 29, 2020 Louise was called home at her residence in Enterprise, Mississippi. Louise attended West Enterprise School from the 1st through 10th grades and Shirley Owens High School from 11th through 12 grade in Quitman, Mississippi. Louise met and married Thayon "Babe Pete/Jack" McMillan on March 24, 1958 for eleven years. This union was blessed with two girls: Shelia and Dee Dee. Louise at a very young age attended Old Enterprise Baptist Church, she later united with First Enterprise Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her health failed. She loved working in her church. As a member she served in the position of Sunday School Secretary for 55 years, with the kitchen staff, Mission Society and many other duties. She was also a dedicated member of the Shirley-Owens Committee for over 40 years. Louise was employed in her early years with Enterprise Greyhound Bus Station, Buddy Rich burg's Cafe for two years, and finally with Burlington Industries for 36 years as a Denim Mapper/trainer. Mama, as I affectionately called her, loved sewing and made many outfits for her two daughters, family and friends. She also loved fishing, cooking, puzzles and collecting "whatnots". She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, husband Thayon McMillan, daughter Sandra Dee McMillan, brother Leonard Collins, Jr. and sisters Ernestine Mccraw and JoAnn Collins. She leaves to hold dear her memories to: one daughter, Shelia Faye McMillan; Granddaughter, Courtney McMillan, Grandson Shakeithan Teon (Robyn) McMillan, Great granddaughter, Jordyn (Derrain) Morton, Great grandsons; Zekerius Winding and lzayah McMillan, Great-great grandson: Xander P. Morton, god daughter, Kim Cole; special cousins: Lois (Robert) Lowery, Arthur Haynes, Charlene Davis, Rose Dear and Tonya Cosby. Great friends: Geneva Johnson, Linda Presley, Eva Mae Green, Lessie M. Foley, Jimmie Dale Thompson, Deborah Brown, Minnie Jasper, Callie T. Price Hughlett, Rev. Darious and Ruth Edmonson. She will be dearly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
