Mrs. Lucie Mae Mason Brown's Obituary
Lucie Mae Mason Brown was born on May 23, 1940 to the late Geneva Watson Hilton and Leroy Rue Sr. Lucie accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of West Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist church for fifty-two years. She had a special passion for the usher and music ministries. She not only served her church, but she participated in several community choirs and served the countywide usher ministry until her health declined. Lucie Mae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Family was important to her and she enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed fishing, transporting people around, and watching over her neighborhood. She was also a very dedicated foster grandparent. Lucie was called to eternal rest on December 16, 2019 at Queen City Nursing Home. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by two sons Ocie Mason and Levi Mason, one grandson, one great granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters. Lucie leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 46 yea,s, Johnnie Brown Jr., five sons: John Mason, Leon Mason, Jimmie Mason, Royal (Vickie) Mason, Jeffrey Mason all of Meridian, MS; three daughters: Miriam "Nicki11 Simmons, Linda Dean both of Meridian, MS, Debra Lott of Hammond, LA; one adopted son Johnny Patton of Meridian, MS; two brothers: Timothy (Monica) and Leroy (Peggy) Rue Jr. of Meridian, MS; four sisters: Frieda Rue of New Orleans, LA, Jean Rue of Pascagoula, MS, Carol Rue of Meridian, MS and Ora Rue of Chicago, IL and a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
