Mr. Ludly Williams' Obituary
Ludly "Mack" Williams was born on August 27, 1937 in Hosston, LA to the late Ruthie B. Samuels and Ernest gay, reared by the late Oscar "Big Daddy" Samuels. At the young age of seventeen, Ludly joined the U.S. Navy where he excelled from seaman to Chief Petty Officer. His accomplishments were many. There he received many awards which include a letter of appreciation from high ranking Navy officials for his 23 years of service, and his many sea and shore assignments which include the USS Steuber County, USS Proteus, USS Howard W. Gilmore, Naval Station, Meridian, USS Shangrala, USS Jonas Ingram, Naval Sation, Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL and the USS Austin. Also while serving, He was awarded the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal with 2 bronze stars and lieu of two additional awards. He retired in -1919 and went onto continue serving for the Navy with 20 years with the Navy Exchange. He was part of the "Fleet Reserve Organization", NAS Bowling League and. Military Retirement Club that helped under privileged families throughout the year. In 1980, he married Patricia William. To this union, no children were born. To his legacy, he leaves behind five children, four of which were born from the union of the late Johnnie Faye Williams. With one son and three daughters, Rodney James Williams (Yvonne), Carol Deniece Williams-Stewart (Richard), Gwendolyn Williams, Robyn La Ruth Spann, and his youngest son, Karlos Lakeith Baylor; three brothers, the late Ernest Samuels (Connie), Roger Samuels, Billy R Samuels and the late Oscar "Pop" Samuels; four sisters, Willie Kate Cunningham, Annie L. Ogungbade, Rosie B. Samuels and Rutheen Neville (William). He also, Leaves to cherish a step-daughter, Edna Edwards and a stepson, Jo Edwards, three aunts; Charlesetta Paige, Annie F. Peyton and Dorothy Fritz, a host of neices and nephews and other relatives and friends. we would like to recognize his three neices, Jo Dell Samuels, Dedra Williams, Rosiland Johnson and nephew Patrick Johnson. To his grandchildren, he was known as "GD", Grandpa Ludly and Paw Paw. His grandchildren include Kiearra Williams (Zachary), Marquita McCoy, Tachaka Lemon, Monique Thomas (Robert), Ashley Williams-Clayton (Sanchez), Sedrick Williams (Deborah), Anjelica Harris (Cam), Richard Stewart, Ill, Jordan Spann, Kim Edwards, Shaumari Edwards, Tijoshia Edwards, Tiori Edwards and Deontae Edwards.
