Mrs. Luella Sanders' Obituary
Mother Luella “Dank” Sanders transitioned August 17, 2019 into God’s loving arms.
Luella Bradley was born to the late Tump and Martha Gaines Bradley in Rose Hill, MS on January 11, 1921. She was nicknamed “Dank” as a young child. Even at an early age, she had a strong faith in God where she later joined East Galilee M.B. Church in Rose Hill, MS. She served faithfully and wore many hats as Home Mission Secretary, Red Circle Director, Chief Usher, Sunday School Teacher, Program committee and carried a mean tune in the Alto section of the Mass Choir up until her health failed. As one of the Deaconess in the old wooden church days, she “Housed the Pastor” overnight with food and comfortable bed on Pastoral Sunday because the Pastor lived so far away. Grandma Luella was a grandmother to all and she displayed love at her glance of you. Luella Bradley was married to Sam Sanders and one child, Ella Teachey, was born who preceded her in death. She had one brother, Willie T; three sisters: Gussie, Geneva and Ernestine; a grandson, Dennis Teachey; a granddaughter, Joanna Teachey; and one great-grandson, Fredrick Irby Jr who preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one brother, Hoover Bradley of Manhasset, NY; two sisters, Edna McLin of Manhasset, NY; and Alice Bradley of Westbury, NY; five grandchildren: Gilbert (Amelia) Sanders, Jerry (Linda) Teachey, Juliet (John) Boykin, Sammie (Nicole) Teachey and Melanie Teachey; son-in-law, Joe (Louise) Teachey; Jerry (Jonesha) Teachey Jr, Lashanda Boykin, Breoia Teachey, Melanie and Amelia Teachey, Simone Sanders, Stephanie Monson and a host of great-grands, great-great-grands, nieces, nephews, and an abundance of friends and extended family.
