Mrs. Mamie L. Wallace's Obituary
Mother Mamie L. Wallace was born on August 12, 1930, to the late John Willie Carpenter and the late
Martha McCarty Carpenter in Lauderdale County, MS. She had four brothers who preceded her in death: Frank Carpenter, Percy Carpenter, Willie James Carpenter, and Celester Carpenter. She had one sister who preceded her in death: Mattie Earl Stewart (New Jersey).
At an early age, she joined Center Ridge Baptist Church in Desoto, MS She later joined Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church, Vossburg, MS, where she was a faithful member, Assistant Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Treasurer, and along with other duties for several years.
Mamie Wallace was a loving and kindhearted woman, who loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She loved to cook and spend time with loved ones. She was full of love, wisdom, and laughter to all who knew her.
She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Elmo Wallace. To this union, three 3) children were born. Willie C. Wallace and Eddie Lee Wallace preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: a loving daughter, Delois (Leslie) Simpson; a loving daughter-in-law, Betty (the Late Eddie) Wallace; three 3) loving sisters-in-law, Dorothy Carpenter, Fannie Ransom, and Jessie Wallace; one loving step-sister, Sandra McCullum (Meridian, MS); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She was also like a mother to Rosemary Nelson whom she affectionally called, "Muh".
She also leaves to cherish her precious memories: 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild preceded her in death, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
