Mr. Marshall James Spears' Obituary
Marshall James Spears was born November 8, 1924. He was the son of mother, Lillie (Lee) Spears and father, Lewis Spears. Marshall had 3 sisters: Living- Lillie Ruth Hicks and deceased- Bessie Spears and Lessie Spears. He had 3 brothers: Living- Marvell Spears and deceased- Robert Spears and Lewis Spears. He married his beautiful wife, Mrs. Easter Mae (Moss) Spears on August 7, 1945. They lived in Toomsuba, MS and had 8 children. There are 4 daughters: living- Edna Ruth Sillimon, Elnora Carson, Annie Ruth (Spears) Spencer and deceased- Daisy Mae (Spears) Hinton. There are 4 sons: living- Spencer Spears, James Lester Spears, Dewayne Spears, and Alexander Spears. He leaves behind 7 granddaughters and 9 grandsons, 12 great-granddaughters and 14 great-grandsons, 10 great-great granddaughters, and 8 great-great grandsons. A total of 60 grandchildren. Marshall was a previous member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church in Toomsuba, MS. He attended school at Stevenson Public Schools in Toomsuba. He was a school bus driver for Lauderdale County for 16 years. He lived in Toomsuba from birth until 2007 when he took residence at the Oaks Nursing Home until he was called home.
