Mrs. Martha Alford's Obituary
Mrs. Martha Alford was born on July 24, 1925 to the late Levi and Ozzie Bell-Brown Hom in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. She was known by most as "Sister". She joined Little Hope Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully until her health no longer allowed her to serve. She was married to the late R.L. "Suga Boy" Alford until his death in 1977. Sister leaves her legacy to: a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Morgan, Russell, MS; an aunt, Mary L. Smith, Fort Worth, TX; four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Betty J. Horn, Toomsuba, MS, Mrs. Eddie Bell Cooper, Birmingham, AL, Mrs. Annie Ruth Jones, Jennings, FL, and Mrs. Mary Lamar, Statenville, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Leroy Ray, Biloxi, MS and a host of special nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved her as well. Sister was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, five brothers: Levi, Jr., Henry Lee, Roosevelt, Ezra, and Woodrow; and two sisters: Earlean Pittman and Earnestine Ray.
