Mrs. Mary Alice Gaddis Jordan Hodge's Obituary
The Fruitful life of Mrs. Mary Alice Gaddis Jordan Hodge began November 27. 1939; being the seventh child and only girl born to the late J. B. Gaddis Sr. and Willie Ann Blakely Gaddis. Mary confessed faith in Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church; where she served as a Choir Director and a faithful member until Mt. Zion merged. Then she moved her membership to St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her death. Mary received her education at the Baptist Seminary and the Meridian Public School District graduating from Harris High School. She was employed by Delco Remy for 17 years prior to her choosing to pursue an early retirement. Mary enjoyed traveling, singing, church and most of all quality family time. Mary Alice Hodge made her transition from this earthly life on Monday February 2. 2015 at Anderson Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Preceding her in death was her Parents, J.B. and Willie Ann Gaddis. Six Siblings: Curtis, John, Tommie, Robert Sr., J.B. Jr., and Bobby. Memories of Mary will always be held dearly in the hearts of many. She leaves to cherish these memories: her loving and devoted daughter, Pamela Ann Hodge Brown (Marvin), three loving grandchildren: Mardrayus Brown, Manesha Brown and Maliyah Brown all of Meridian, MS; Two special nephews: Steven Gaddis. Atlanta Georgia, Harold Gaddis (Erica); A very close cousin Mary Francis Whitlock. One God Granddaughter. Shauna Donaldson all of Meridian, MS. Missing her also, three Sister in laws; Sadie Gaddis. Mary Ruth Gaddis. and Mentora Gaddis. She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
