Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Gordon's Obituary
Mother Mary Elizabeth Plummer Gordon went to sleep in the Lord and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia. Mother Gordon, or "Granny", as she was affectionately called by many, was born on Febrnary 5, 1926 to the parentage of Richard and Rosie Plummer. She was the eighth of seventeen children. Mother Gordon was united in marriage to Mr. Lloyd Gordon, Sr. in 1948. They lovingly raised three children born of this union. On September 18, 1983, Mother Gordon was born into The Pentecostal Church of God where she remained a faithful sister until she departed this life. Granny unselfishly shared love, words of encouragement, and her witty humor with anyone she encountered. Although absent from the body, we know she is present with the Lord and rejoicing with our Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded into eternal life by her husband and twelve siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Mr. Lloyd Gordon, Jr. (Cassie}, two daughters, Sis. Alice Jones (Willie Earl), and Mrs. Gail Squaire (Willie), five grandchildren, Ms. Ashley Gordon, Dec. William Jones (Vanesia), Sis. Alise Coakley (Vincent), Dec. Lionel Jones,, Mrs. Sharonda Woulard (Ryan), eight great-grandchildren, two very special young people, Bro. Alec McGill and Sis. April Howze, one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Bailey, three brothers, Mr. Richard Plummer, Jr., Mr. Charles Plummer, and Mr. Leo Plummer, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and her entire ) Pentecostal Church of God family.
