Mary Lucille Stokes Middleton On January 23, 1944 Lucille was born to Charlie and Louberda Stokes, both of whom preceded her in death. She departed this life on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi At an early age Lucille accepted the Lord as her Savior at Bethel United Methodist Church in DeSoto, Mississippi. Lucille graduated from Shirley-Owens High School in 1963. After graduation she moved to New York and attended college where she obtained her cosmetology license. After moving to New York, she met and married Arthur Middleton who preceded her in death. Four children were born to this union and she also gained 5 additional children. While in New York, she continued to serve the Lord at St. Paul Holiness Church in Newark, New Jersey. After her husband's death, she moved back to Mississippi and joined the Congregational Church of God under the leadership of Minister Carrie Sterling. Lucille loved the Lord, her family, fishing and possessed a very special love of flowers. She leaves to cherish her memories: Reginald Stokes, Mt. Pocono, PA; Steven (Mary Ann) Middleton, Brooklyn, NY, Joel Middleton, Bronx, New York, Natasha (Reginald) Sargant, Hiram, GA; Vanessa Brown, Manhattan, NY, Jan Middleton, Columbus, GA; Annette Middleton, Manhattan, NY, Toni (Leon) Sharrod, Manhattan, NY, numerous nieces, nephews, and, other family members and friends.
