Mrs. Mary Francis Odoms' Obituary
Accepted Christ at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. Mary was the oldest of 8 children born to Selma Ralph Simmons and Lula Mae Martin Simmon.s which included David, Selma,James, Warren, Sarah, Thomas and Ola. And one step sister Joan Her 12 children include Mary, Rose, Moses., Ronald, Oscar, Beverly (William) Sanford, Marquerite, Patricia (Michael), Phyllis (Robert), Douglas, Timothy, and James (Christy) Mary was preceded in death by mother and father, all sisters and brothers except Joan who lives in Meridian, MS. Her son's Moses and Oscar, and her daughter Mary. She leaves to cherish her memories, Rose Odoms, Ronald Odoms, Beverly (William) Sanford, Marguerite Odoms, Patricia (Michael) Edwards, Phyllis (Robert) Miller and James (Christy) Odoms, all of Meridian, MS; Douglas Odoms, Dallas, TX and Timothy Odoms, Detroit, MI. 27 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mary was a devoted and active member of St. John Baptist church, she sang in the senior choir, missionary society, 1 o'clock prayer meeting, and volunteered her time at the Lydia's House until her health failed her. Mary's love of children kept her busy. She kept her home open to her flock of children, grandchildren and the neighborhood children as well. Mary loved to cook and enjoy the company of her family.
