Mrs. Mary E. Graham Smith's Obituary
Mrs. Mary E. Graham Smith was born on November 27, 1935, in Meridian MS to Chester Graham and Sadie Thomas Graham who preceded her in death. She gained her wings on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian MS. Mary, the second of six children received her formal education at Saint Joseph Catholic School. Accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, she was a dedicated lifelong member of Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. On April 16, 1955, she married John Enoch Smith ( deceased) and to this union three sons were born; John W. Smith (Meridian, MS), Stanley L. Smith (deceased), and George A. Smith (Meridian, MS). Mary worked diligently throughout her life, retiring from Meridian Public Library in 2006. Mrs. Smith was loved by all who knew her. She was known for always being there to lend a helping hand, a listening ear or to be a blessing in any way that she could. She served her community, her church and most of all, her family. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, two brothers and one son. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons John W. Smith of Meridian and George A Smith (Georgia) of Waynesboro MS, sisters Dorothy Hudson and Sarah Walker both of Meridian, three adoring grandchildren, Lateefah Boyd of Hampton GA, Tarik Smith (Shantavia) of Hope Mills NC and Christopher Smith of Jackson MS, 7 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loved ones.
