Mrs. Mary Frances Whitlock's Obituary
Mary Frances Hunter Whitlock was born on June 5, 1938, to Hezekiah and Ida Conley Hunter and raised in the loving care of her paternal grandparents, George and Manora Gaddis Hunter. Mary began her spiritual and Christian journey at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Meehan, MS. She began her formal education at Meridian Baptist Seminary and graduated from T. J. Harris High School. Afterwards, she began her career as a school dietitian for the Meridian Public School System where she imparted her loving nature and wisdom to her co-workers and children alike. She dutifully worked in this role until retiring in 1998. She was united in holy matrimony to James Lamar Whitlock, after which, she continued her Christian journey by becoming a member of Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Savoy, MS. There she began teaching Sunday School, as she wanted everyone to know God's word. In 2005, she united with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she later became a Sunday School teacher for the Adult Women's Class. She was also the leader of the Golden Age Ministry and a member of the Sick and Shut-In Committee. Mary Frances lived a true Christian life and served the Lord well. Her loyalty to her church, her faithfulness to her family, and her kindness to her friends shall ever be a memorial to her beautiful life. She labored hard and long; therefore, the Lord promised her rest. On the·evening of November 15, 2022, Mary Frances departed this life and is now at peace with God.
