Mr. Matthew Lucas' Obituary
Matthew Lucas was December 9, 1941 to the late Matthew and Christine Lucas of Heidelberg, Mississippi. He departed this life on November 30, 2017 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Matthew attended school at Shady Grove and graduated in 1959 from South Side High School in Heidelberg, Mississippi.
Passionately known as June to many of his family and friends, his is remembered as the family comedian that kept everyone smiling and laughing. He always had an answer for everything.
Matthew was united in Holy Matrimony to Maudie Mae Boykin on August 12, 1964.
A few years after finishing high school, he and his wife relocated to Chicago, Illinois where he worked at Republic Steel Mill until he retired. Matthew was a hard worker and didn’t mind getting up and going to work. His favorite pass-time was watching westerns on television.
Matthew was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ransom Lucas.
he leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife, Maudie M. Lucas of Quitman, MS; 2 God daughters, Chiffon Graham and Nelia Graham, Tacoma, WA and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
