Mrs. Mattie V. Cole's Obituary
MATTIE V. LANDINGHAM was born on March 21, 1951 to Annie Bell Morrow Landingham and Robert Landingham Sr. In Philadelphia, MS. She departed this life on November 7, 2018 in the comfort of her home in Marion, MS. MATTIE, the youngest of ten siblings, grew up in a Christian family and was taught the value of living for Jesus Christ. She united with the Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi where she served until she moved to Meridian, Mississippi. To continue and strengthen her walk with Christ, she united with Saint John Missionary Baptist Church and served faithfully in the Music Ministry singing and praising with the W. C. Griffin Singers. She also served in the Sunday School Ministry. She is a graduate of Neshoba Central High School, Philadelphia, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Belle Morrow Landingham, her father Robert Landingham, her brother Willie Jenkins and beloved sisters Marie Atkins & Annie Noble. She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons: DeAnthony (Brenda) Cole, Sr. and Tavares "Montrail" (Nikki) Cole, Sr., both of Meridian, Mississippi; one daughter, Natalie Cole of Marion, Mississippi; Grandsons: DeAnthony Cole, Jr., Javares Cole, Darrien Cole, Trevon Cole, Nickalas Hickman, La'Brian Willis & Tavares Cole, Jr.; Granddaughters: Tarkela Cole, Courtney, LaTrecia Cole, T'Quanna Cole, Lauren & Grenlei Cole; Great grandchildren: Shakwasia Cole, Skyii Scarbrough, Aiden Cole, Elijah Cole & Ethan Cole Brothers: Mason (Earlene) Landingham of Altamonte Spring, Florida, Hubert (Laverne) Landingham of Bakersville, California; Sisters: Mary Lee Payne of Oakland, California, Bobbie (Bennie) Stewart and Ella Mae Brand of Philadelphia, MS, Estella (Johnny) Henson of Altamonte Springs, Florida, June (Curtis) Grace and Jean Sherman, of Meridian, Mississippi; a host of nieces, nephews & friends in addition to her special lifelong partner James Jackson.
