Mrs. Mattie Lee Johnson's Obituary
Mattie Lee Johnson was born on June 28, 1929 to the late Percy and Falbie Smith in Enterprise, Mississippi. She was the youngest of nine children. On Monday, January 1, 2024, God dispatched His angels to usher Mattie into eternal rest. Mattie was united in Holy Matrimony to Edward John, son. To this union ten children were born and raised by them. Mattie worked and retired from Foster Glass Company in Burlington, Wisconsin for several years. Her joy was cooking for family and friends. She was a faithful member of First Enterprise M.B. Church until her death. , Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Johnson, Her parents, Percy and Falbie Smith, eight siblings and one son: James E. Johnson. Her precious memories will be forever cherished by her loving children: Six daughters: Edwina (Keith) Green of Enterprise, Mississippi, Brenda Fortune of Atlanta, Georgia, Linda "Faye" (Les) Higgenbottom of Racine Wisconsin; Janice "Pokey" (Roosevelt) Overton of Pearland, Texas; Margaret Love of Katy, Texas and Jacqueline Oliver of Lithonia, Georgia. Three sons: Michael (Elliott Jackson) Johnson of Lithonia, Georgia; Gregory (Olga) Johnson of Houston, Texas: and Bryant (Brenda) Johnson of Vallejo, California. Seventeen grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces. nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends She also leaves special friends: Reverend Aaron (Linda) Heidelberg and Cleo Milton.
