Mrs. Mattie Evelyn Trussell's Obituary
Mattie Evelyn Beard Trussell was born July 2, 1936, to the late Tom and Ruby Beard, in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. On December 20, 2020, God looked down at her earthly condition and dispatched his angels to bring her home. Mattie as married to George (Noon) Louis Trussell and to this union, one daughter, Brenda Joyce Trussell was born. During that time, when parents to only took their children to church, but required that they seek God for themselves, she joined Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church on the red-dirt Sunlight Road.
She graduated from the then prominent Wechsler School in Meridian, MS. This education afforded her the opportunity to serve as a night auditor at the Best Western Motel for thirty four plus years . Mattie was a wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend extraordinaire. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George; three brothers: Willie, Candy, and Fonda; three sisters: Northa, Susie Bell and Gracie Lee.
She leaves a strong and God fearing legacy to: her daughter, Brenda Trussell Graham (Donny) of Dallas, TX; one sister, Ruby Hall, of Meridian, MS; one sister-in-law, Martha Jean Beard, of Meridian, MS; one granddaughter, Bianca Trussell, of Dallas, TX; one grandson, George Graham, of Dallas, TX; three great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends- one of which she nurtured as a daughter, Julia Marshall.
