Mr. Melvin Young, Jr.'s Obituary
Melvin Young Jr. was born February 12, 1970 at Matty Hersee Hospital in Meridian, MS to the union of Diane and Melvin Young Sr. He departed this life on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Jeff Anderson Medical Center.
Melvin enjoyed life. He began his education in the Meridian Public School System. At an early age, he joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Melvin enjoyed the simple things in life, such as: dominos, clowning around with family and friends, old school music, solitaire, and crossword puzzles. Melvin believed in hard work and was employed at Riley Hospital, Atlas Roofing, Peavy Electronics, Alliance, Magnolia Steel and East Mississippi State Hospital. Melvin was joined in holy matrimony to Angela Toole Young on August 6, 2014 and was blessed with 4 children.
Melvin was proceeded in death by his son, Talimon Rodrigues Edwards; grandfather, Calvin Young Sr.; great-grandmother , Sarah Hatter, grandmother, Annie Pearl Young; grandmother, Retha Mae Mitchell; cousin, Dorothy Ann Hersey; cousin, Gloria Mae Hersey; and special friend, Robert “Duck” Blanks.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Angela Toole Young; his parents Diane & Melvin Young; daughters, Brittany Monegan, Brianna Young, Zybresha Toole; son, Sean King; grandchildren: Jaryia Yarbrough, Xzhyvion Johnson, Haven Johnson, Keristen Monegan; sister, Annie (Kenneth) Young Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
