Michael Tyrone Davis departed this life at the University of Mississippi
Medical Center in Jackson, MS on April 19, 2024. He was born in Quitman, MS on October 17, 1964 to the union of John Lee Davis, Jr. and Barbara Mitchell Davis.
He was raised in Flint, MI before later moving to Melvin, AL and attending Southern Choctaw High School. After spending his high school years as a football player and a diligent student, Michael graduated from SCHS and attended Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, MS as an English major. He was a creative soul who was a DJ in his youth and experimented with art in various ways, especially in graphic and logo design. Michael was also down-to-earth, working with his hands at several companies throughout his life, including Wayne Pallet Co., Sunbeam, and Lowe's. He was an exuberant, fun-loving person who had never met a stranger, and enjoyed watching movies and sports, listening to reggae and hip-hop music, playing video games, eating good food, and spending time with his friends and family. He loved everyone fiercely and embraced life until the end.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Mitchell Davis, and his grandfather and grandmother, Jesse Mitchell and Mattie J.

He is survived by his daughter, Mikica Davis, of Flint, MI; his father and stepmother, John Lee Davis, Jr. and Dr. Vera Hayden-Davis, of Meridian, MS; his sisters, Jacqueline Nicholson of Flint, MI and Anita Grady of Houston, TX; his aunts, Jean Delores of Martha's Vineyard, MA and Eddierie Donley of Mobile, AL; his niece and nephews, Joi-Hannah Callahan, Lee Callahan, and Eliot McDaniel, all of Flint, MI; his great-nieces and nephews, DeWaun "Boomer" Robinson, Jr., Delilah Robinson, Mycolby McDaniel, Dariya McDaniel, and Dream McDaniel; and a host of cousins and friends.
