Mrs. Minnie Magadalene McCoy-Jackson's Obituary
On May 9, 1923, Minnie Magadalene McCoy was born, the nineth of elevem. children, to the late Rev. Mart McCoy and Lettie Terrell McCoy. MINNIE confessed Christ at an early age and united with Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Topton, Mississippi under the leadership of Rev. Holton. She later moved to Meridian, Mississippi and united with the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. J.E. King. Her service continued at Saint John under the leadership of the late Rev. W. C. Griffin and Rev. Jimmy Johnson until her health failed. MINNIE was a faithful member of the Barksdale Circle of the Mission Ministry, the One O'Clock Prayer and Bible Study Group and the Sanctuary Choir at Saint John. She was also a member of the Unity Interdenominational Choir. She loved singing and serving her fellowman. She was united in holy matrimony to Ike Jackson, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by all her sisters and brothers-Grady McCoy, Fred McCoy, Luther Ray McCoy, Joseph McCoy, L. C. McCoy, Cornelius Blanks, Ida Chris1ine Cullum, Roberta Young, Lucy Mae Anderson and NelliE Clayton; one son, Willie James Ott, one daughter, Judy Ann Jackson; one grandson, Reginald Collins; three great-grandchildren, Zasia Holder, Alexander Ott and Terrianda Collins, Jr. MINNIE leaves to cherish her memories: two sons Charles E. Jackson (Mary) of Fort Worth, TX, J. C. Ott, Sr. (Mary) of Meridian, MS; three daughters, Minnie L. Ruffin, Arthur Marie Collins, and Joyce Ann Collins, all of Meridian, MS; seventeen (17) grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, seven (7) great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
