Ms. Minnie B. Sumling's Obituary
Minnie Bell Sumling was born to Louberta Barnett on September 21, 1922, in Shubuta, Mississippi. She was the oldest of 11 siblings.
Minnie accepted Christ as a teenager and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Shubuta, Mississippi under the pastoral leadership of Renaye Dawkins. She loved the Lord and attending church services.
Minnie was a support system to her family in her younger years by babysitting and housecleaning.
Minnie enjoyed to sing, dance, and she loved the Lord. Her favorite songs were Old Time.
Religion and God Rose in the Windstorm. Her greatest adventure was taking her first flight, relocating to Pittsburg, California with her sister at 95 years old. She experienced going to the Oakland zoo and other family trips in the San Francisco bay area.
Minnie entered heaven on December 6, 2023 where she reunited with her mother, Louberta Barnett; Brothers, Alonzo Stokes and Charlie Stokes; Sisters, Ida Mae McQueen, Celia Stokes, Bitha Mae Heidelberg, Mary Lee Wolverton, Sadie Bell Warren, Mary Lucile Middleton, and Annie Lee Lockett.
Minnie leaves to cherish her memories her sister Mamie Lee Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly.
Minnie will truly be missed. Her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she has touched. She has forever left an imprint on our hearts and souls.
