Mrs. Mocell Hardy Blakely's Obituary
Mocell Hardy Blakely departed this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. She was born on August 2, 1925 to the late Johnny B. Hardy and Velma C. Hill Hardy in Lizelia Mississippi, which is today called Daleville, Mississippi. She moved to Meridian Ms. in 1944. She united into holy matrimony on December 14,1946 to Mr. Robert Blakely and to this union ten children were born. Mocell gave her life to God at an early age and became a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church in Daleville, Mississippi. In 1944 she moved to Meridian Mississippi were she became a faithful member of the St. Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Church was her life, she served as a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, United Methodist Woman and Board of Trustee, she was a faithful member until death. Her first priority every morning was to read and study the word of God. She operated a Nursery out of her home, she loved children. · She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Robert Blakely, parents Johnny B. and Velma C. Hill Blakely, one daughter; Joyce Blakely, four sons; Johnny Lee Hardy, Michael, Luther and Bobbie Blakely; one son in law: Billy Ray Campbell; one brother Riddell Hardy and one sister; Pearlen Hardy. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters; Gladys Campbell of Meridian, Ms. and Velma (Arnold) Washington of Keithville, Louisiana; four sons: Jerry (Estella) Blakely, James (Roslyn) Blakely all of Meridian Ms., Robbie Blakely of Ellisville, Ms. and Leslie Blakely of Meridian Ms.: daughter · in law; Glenda Hardy of Canada,: one brother; Walter Hardy of Cleveland, Ohio: one sister; Katie M. Tennis of Meridian, Ms.; 18 grandchildren; Mary, Shartori, Krystal, Glen, Renardo, Sharrie, Cedric, Michael, Angie, Arshunda, Simone, Adrian, Monica, Martin, Julian, Mary, Angela and Thomas; 21 great grandchildren; a special niece Lorri Brown, a special friend of the family Francies Hubbleston and a host of relatives and friends.
