Mrs. Myrtis E. Fountain's Obituary
Mrs. Myrtis Henderson Fountain was born in Enterprise, MS on August 17, 1931 to Jake and Cleo Henderson. She was one of twelve children born to this union. Myrtis was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six siblings. Myrtis united in holy matrimony to Mr. Rubin Fountain in 1957. Myrtis accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. Witherspoon at New Prospect Baptist Church of Savoy. Myrtis graduated from TJ Harris High School. She also attended Calmese Beauty School in Meridian, MS. Myrtis was self employed. She and her husband Rubin owned and operated Fountain Clothing Store in Meridian, MS for many years. Those left to cherish her memories are: a son, Kentish Fountain of Meridian, MS; a daughter, Cherry Fountain-Barnes of Meridian, MS; and daughter, Keyada Fountain-Collins (O’Brian) of Pearl, MS; her grandchildren, LeKey, Racardo, Misty, KeOndre, Keshun, Michael Roshun and Jakaveon; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Leodis Henderson (Esther) of Tampa, FL; Billy Henderson of Meridian, MS; three sisters, Ruby Kitchens of Jackson, MS; Gracie Hogan of Meridian, MS; Mattie Thames of Coppers Cove, TX; one uncle, Andrew Lee Henderson of Chicago, IL; and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.
