Mrs. Narvel Elizabeth Ida Wilson's Obituary
Narvel Elizabeth Ida Wilson was born in Kemper County, Mississippi on September 20, 1929 to Armstead and Endia Velma (Duncan) Coleman. She slipped peacefully from this life on May 29, 2019 at the Medilodge, Southfield, MI. Narvel was the 3rd of nine children. She was baptized in the Mt. Salem Baptist Church in Preston and taught in the Kemper County Public School district. She met and married her husband, Bartow Hulin (deceased), a member of the US Navy, who was stationed at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, in Pensacola, Florida. To this union, three children were born, Bernard, Patricia Ann, and Bartow Jr. She later married Willie Wilson who also preceded her in death.
Her greatest joy was her membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a very active member serving in many roles to include Worthy Matron. She attended many National Conferences, was invited to speak at many special event programs in the Detroit area on a variety of subjects, and served as a mentor for new inducted Eastern Star members. Additionally, she served as the neighborhood block club president. After retirement from a book binding company in Detroit as shop steward, Narvel spent many hours as a volunteer companion for terminally ill patients who were in the Hospice Program. She is survived by: son, Bernard T. (Loretta) Hulin of Mississippi; one daughter, Patricia Ann of Georgia; one sister, Minnie R. Mccree of Michigan; grandchildren and their spouses, David Hulin of Michigan, Derrick Hulin of Michigan, Telethia Butler of Michigan, Shona (Elisha) Vickers of Washington, Shari (Gerald) Epps of Virginia, Sheena (Ceasar) Jordan of Maryland; goddaughter, Elaine Germany; and numerous greatgrandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as special friend, Alice Turner.
