Mr. Nehemiah "Sonny" Kersh's Obituary
Nehemiah was born in Pelahatchie, MS to the late Nehemiah and Alberta Kersh. Nehemiah attended McCall High School in Pelahatchie, MS. He worked at MFC in Pelahatchie, MS up until 1983. He later moved to Meridian, MS where he was employed at Meridian Tire Service until his retirement. Nehemiah transitioned from this earthly life on August 29, 2021, at Rush Foundation Hospital. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, two sisters: Georgian Kersh and Mae Frances Davis; and one son, Randy Gibson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his lovely wife of 53 years: Mary Nell Kersh; one son, Gacoby Gibson of Milwaukee, WI; one daughter, Janice (Steve) Dunson of Milwaukee, WU; seven stepchildren: Glenda (Ronnie) Pritchett of Slidell, LA; Charles Howell of Meridian, MS; Vera Irvin of Jackson, MS; Debra (Michael) Lewis of Lawton, OK; Barbara McBride of Quitman, MS; James (Consuela) Howell of Puckett, MS; Thomas (Tina) Howell of Meehan, MS. He also raised a special grandson, Andra (Athenia) Howell and a special niece, (sister) Bobbie Smith. He also leaves 34 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
