Mrs. Nellie Mosley's Obituary
Nellie (Vaghn Townsend) Mosley was born August 23, 1947 to the late Lucinda Brown and David Vaghn In Toomsuba, MS. She departed this life April 19, 2014 at her residence. She attended Middleton Attendance Center in Meridian, MS. It is now known as Northeast Elementary School. Early in life she met and married Robert Townsend. To this union five children were born: Robert J. Townsend of Meridian, MS; Brenda Faye (Ray) Ford of Yantley, AL; Wanda D. Townsend of Meridian, MS; James E. Townsend of Toomsuba, MS; and Zedrick R. Townsend of Meridian, MS. A few years later Nellie and Robert divorced and she moved to Hartford, CT for a short stay. She moved back to Toomsuba, MS and joined Alpha & Omega Holiness Church under the leadership of Apostle Freddie Ford, Sr. Nellie was on the Alpha Omega Usher Board, Prayer Band and Pastor Aide. A few years later, the Lord called her into the ministry. She met Overseer George Mosley and formed a beautiful relationship, a great bond. On June 6, 1981, they joined hands in holy matrimony. There was an almost 33 year union of divine love and happiness. She was a faithful wife, mother, and church worker until her health began to fail. One child preceded Neliie Mosley in death, Little George. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband, Overseer George Mosley; 5 children; 17 grand children, 3 great grandchildren; her church family and a host of friends.
