Mr. Nemiah Irby's Obituary
Nemiah Irby was born on October 3, 1927 in Meridian, MS. He was the ninth of eleven children of the late Sam and Floetta (Walk) Irby. He departed this life on October 13, 2015 after a brief illness at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS.
At an early age, he moved from Mississippi to Sharon, PA. He was employed for 47 years as an Engineer and Crane operator at Sharpsville Works. Receiving awards for Attendance and Outstanding Work Performance. he retired in 1991. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. He has five sons and one daughter from a previous marriage to Helen Allen. He later united in Holy Matrimony with Laura Jean Mitchell Brown until his home going. Nemiah, lovingly known as “Nathan” had a love for the outdoors. he enjoyed gardening and always shared the fruits of his labor, especially his watermelons. He was known for his kind heart and love for the elderly. He adored his Family.
Preceding Nemiah in death are his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Irby, brothers; Chris, AJ, Ethan, Cemiah and sisters; Creasie, Juna Mae, Mary, Vertie Mae and Reinea. he is survived by his loving wife, Laura, five sons, one daughter, one brother, Chester Irby and a host of grandchildren including one special granddaughter, Stephanie (whom he adored). Two step sons, three step daughters, one whom he dearly referred to as “my daughter” Patricia Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
