Mrs. Norweda Battle's Obituary
Sunday evening, January 27, 2019 was Norwenda Love Battle's time to peacefully answer the final call and enter into eternal rest with the God she loved. Norwenda Love Battle, one of three children of Herbert and Hassie Love was born on January 31, 1923 in Kemper Springs, MS. Norwenda was a loving person with a delightful spirit. She began her education in Kemper County, graduating from T.J. Harris High School, Meridian. She taught school in Kemper Springs for a number of years. She joined Union Missionary Baptist Church, Kemper Springs at an early age. After moving to Meridian, she continued her Christian journey and united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was an active and faithful member and served her church as a Vacation Bible School teacher, choir member and Missionary Society until her health failed. She still enjoyed reading the Bible, devoations and religious books. She believed in the greatness of God. Norwenda Love united in holy matrimony to Jordan Battle, Jr. who preceded her in death. To this union two sons, Jordan Eugene and Murry, were born. She was a gifted seamstress to the community and to the work place. She was employed with Dravin's and Kay's clothing for over 40 years. Norwenda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her youngest son (Murry), her brother (Percy) and her granddaughter (Tozshe.) She spent her last years at Queen City Nursing Center, a caring supportive community that accepted her with love. A life lived as she lived cannot die, but will love on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Those who knew her best are her devoted sons: Jordan Eugene; daughters in law: Patrica and Cassandra; grandchildren: Runeeki (Kim), Kelcey and Shuneke; great children, De-Marius, Andre, Qualimazaria, Shunecia, Shuneke II, Ahdaius and Myles; brother: Lamar Love; Goddaughter: Argraters Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
