Mrs. Octavia "Tavie" Hubbard's Obituary
Octavia Hubbard was born May 30, 1936 to the late Jessie B. Whitsett and Luther Brown. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Tomola Church of God, Lauderdale, Mississippi, where she served faithfully until her health declined.
Mother Octavia united in holy matrimony to Edward Hubbard who she shared over 70 wonderful years with until his passing.
Tavie, as she was affectionately known by many was a loving, kind, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, great-great grandmother and friend. She will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Tavie loved God, and she loved people. She loved visiting the sick and praying with them. She also loved to sew. Mother Octavia transitioned into eternity on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was preceded in death.by her parents, her husband, Edward Hubbard; two sons, Edward Hubbard, Jr. and George Ralph Hubbard; two brothers, Robert L. Hughes and Willie Nell Hughes; and one sister, Patricia Cross. She leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by her daughter, Edna B. Hubbard; five brothers, Jerome Brown (Bert), Michael Brown (Jelly}, Ronnie Brown, Johnnie B. Whitsett (Niecie) and David Lark; three sisters, Elesa Dixon (Samuel), Ruth Jenkins and Cathy Houston; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
