Mrs. Ola Mae Scott Collins' Obituary
Ola Mae Scott Collins was the fifth (5) child born to the union of Inez Scott and the late Floyd Scott on May 3, 1957 in Meridian, MS. Ola answered to God’s call of her name and went with the Heavenly Angels to live with the Lord on May 9, 2018.
Ola was born and raised in Meridian, MS on the South Side of town and received her adulation through the Meridian Public School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined with Thirty-First Missionary Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. She was an advocate for working in the medical field. She received her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License and has worked at the following: Kings Daughters Nursing Home, Anderson Regional Medical Center and at East Mississippi State Hospital for over 20 years until her health failed. She took pride in her position as CNA and was very professional in her work she succeeded in.
On July 14, 1995, Ola married Lonnie Collins, Sr. whom was the love of her life. To this union, 4 children were born.
Ola was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Scott, maternal and paternal grandparents and one (1) sister, Mrs. flora McCalebb.
Ola leaves to cherish her memories: her loving, caring and devoted husband, Lonnie Collins Sr. of Daleville, MS; her loving and caring mother, Inez Scott of Meridian, MS; three (3) daughters: Kameka Scott, Kenya “Princess” Stapleton and Teresa (Albert) Creer, all of Meridian, MS; one (1) son, Dennis Scott of Daleville, MS; one (1) step-son, Lonnie collins, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; one (1) sister: Jeanette Scott of Bailey, MS; two (2) brothers: Floyd Scott, Jr. and Leroy Scott, both of Meridian, MS; twelve (12) grandchildren: Miya, Cameron, Darion, and Delonta Scott, Shevonta and Jamal Roberts, Ezekiel Vashti and Emmanuel Houston, Albrinna and Rongelap Creer and Rodriquez McNeal; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
