Mrs. Ola Mae Hardy's Obituary
Ola Mae Hardy, the daughter of the late Richard Mayberry Davis, Jr. and Effie Nickson Davis, began her life’s journey on November 27, 1942 in Carthage, Mississippi. She was called to her heavenly home on January 23, 2022. After her family moved to Meridian, MS when she was a child, Ola Mae attended Greater Mt. Herman Baptist Church and Meridian Public Schools. She was a proud graduate of Harris High School’s Class of 1960. Shortly after graduating from high school, Ola Mae met and married Columbus hardy, Sr.
Ola Mae was beloved in the community because of her bug heart and wide embrace. She was known for her generosity and compassion. Ola Mae encouraged everyone to be their best, set high expectations, and showed her enduring love for others by actions and deeds.
One way Ola Me showed love was cooking. If you received her cookies and cakes at Christmas over the decades or her cupcakes, you received her love. If she made your favorite dish for your birthday, or your shared a meal with her family, you received her love.
In addition to being an outstanding cook, Ola Mae loved reading, sports, and traveling in and out of the country. She most enjoyed, however, spending time with her family.
Ola Mae loved her family deeply. She was the happiest when she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She celebrated births, birthdays, graduations, marriages, and life events with much excitement and deep gratitude.
Ola Mae truly will be missed by all who knew and loved her- her family, the St. Francis Apartments community, East End and College Park Apartment residents, and those who became extended family over members over the years.
