Mrs. Ollie Mae Payne's Obituary
Her story began on April 1, 1937. She was born her parents Necie Bell (Cattenhead) Kirkland and Jessie Kirkland (both preceded her in death). She was the eldest of four girls. Their birth order after her is Lillie Ruth Sykes, Jessie Lou Keetion (preceded her in death), and the baby of the bunch, Jessie Ruth Brown. Ollie was a wonderful seamstress. She started perfecting her craft at an early age. She made her sister's as well as her own clothes. With her sewing abilities, she became involved in weddings, fashion shows, and other events. Ollie was recognized for her beauty by being crowned Ms. Hopewell while she was a young woman. She went on to meet a handsome young man named Thomas J. Payne Sr. They were united in matrimony on October 11, 1955. This union produced four children; · Ethel (Patsy) Rue (she preceded her in death), Thomas Payne Jr., Carow (Jeffrey) McClendon (she preceded her in death)and the baby of the bunch Tonya Grady. Her children were her pride and joy. Ollie was a hard worker during which she found her true passion which was her garden. She loved working in her yard for hours. She had a yard worthy of Better Homes and Gardens that was so beautiful. She lived to love her 9 grandchildren; Michele Haygood, Nicole (Mario) Ferrell,. Thomas Payne Ill, Ashley Rue, Xa\lier (Brittany) Lard, Montevia Grady, Willie Grady IV, Payne Grady, and Rashaud Dollard. She leaves to cherish her 6 Great Grandchildren Erika Smith, Mario Chisolm, Kennedy Haygood, Austin Carter, Noah Haygood,. Nolynn Haygood, Nolynn Haygood, Paityn Ferrell, and Azuria Lard. She also leaves to cherish her a host of Nieces and Nephews and Cousins. Ollie committed her soul to Christ. She loved the lord and lived a full life.
